Why you'd want to live in Parrish
Parrish, Florida was originally founded prior to the Civil War. In 1867, Crawford Parrish, a rancher and orange farmer, moved to the area and the community was eventually named after him. In 1939, a Florida guide was published and the town was described as a citrus-fruit and vegetable shipping center. As a shipping center, railroads played an active role in the area's growth. The Florida Gulf Coast Railroad Museum is a main attraction and a celebration of this rich history. Today, residents of Parrish love their community because it has a rural feel with lots of open areas and green spaces. That being said, just because Parrish has a rural feel does not mean that the community is in "the sticks". Located right along U.S. 301, Parrish has access to a corridor that is flourishing with activity, including restaurants, shopping, sports complexes, and areas of interest. Lakewood Ranch is just a short commute away too. If you are looking to get away from it all but still want access to everything, Parrish should be on your radar. It is rapidly becoming one of the top destinations in all of Florida. via lwrhome.com
